Religiosity Level of Mosque Congregation: A Study on Individuals Attending a Mosque Regularly

Abstract

Religious; It means a person who abides by the orders and prohibitions of the religion he believes in, adheres to his religion with a strong bond, and fulfills the orders of his religion. In other words, a religious person is a person who fulfills the orders and prohibitions of his religion. This study aims to measure the level of religiosity who continued to pray five times a day with “The Scale of Islamic Religiosity in the Context of the Qur’an Karim” that developed by Emine Çayabatmaz. The scope of this research; is limited to the level of religiosity of the congregation, who continues to pray five times a day in a Mosque, which is affiliated to Kocaeli-Derince District Mufti. The sample of the research; 82 people attend a mosque five times. In this study, quantitative research method was used, and data were collected by questionnaire technique. As a result of the findings, when the data of “Islamic Religiosity Scale in the Context of the Qur’an” were examined; It was determined that the level of religiosity in the dimension of belief and worship of the sample was sufficient, but the level of religiosity in the dimension of morality was not at a sufficient level.
