Abstract

This paper seeks to present the framework of a developing research project aimed at filling a gap in existing approaches to conflict resolution resting on theoretical and empirical elements. We propose an innovative paradigm integrating cultural and religious approaches to conflict management based on an interdisciplinary approach. It aims: (1) To address the importance of religion and culture in the Middle East conflict and the potential of religion to help bridge this gap; and (2) to offer an integrated approach based on several disciplines - political science, Jewish philosophy and social psychology as a basis for developing more integrated tools to manage conflict which are an outgrowth of the rich German-Jewish heritage.
