Abstract

The present study examined the reliability and content validity of an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) grade-level test for Turkish 3rd grade primary students. While the Content Validity Index (CVI) was found to be low (.52), the reliability coefficients varied between .77 and .91 for the sub-subsections, indicating high reliability of the items. The item difficulty and discrimination indices were also consistent with the CVI as 50% of the items were identified as being in need of revision.
