Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship of the long -lived plasma cells and the prognosis of patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura ( ITP),and the relationship with ITP's relevant clinical indicators.Methods The expression rate of long - lived plasma cell in peripheral blood of 100 patients with preliminary diagnosis of ITP and 20 normal controls were assayed by flow cytometry.After follow - up of six months,the ITP patients were divided into acute - type and chronic - type two groups,the expression rate of long - lived plasma cells in peripheral blood when preliminary diagnosed were compared,and the relationships between expression rate and treatment time,platelet count when preliminary diagnosis,platelet- associated antibody,bone marrow megakaryocyte count,therapeutic reaction were analyzed.Results Expression rate of long - lived plasma cells in peripheral blood had no significant difference (P > 0.05 ) in acute -type group and the control group,and it was significantly higher in chronic -type group than that in control type,the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05 ) ; Expression rate of long - lived plasma cells in peripheral blood in chronic - type group had no correlation with platelet count when preliminary diagnosis and platelet - associated antibodies (P >0.05 ),and was correlated with the treatment time,bone marrow megakaryocyte count,therapeutic reaction (P < 0.05).Conclusions Long - lived plasma cells in peripheral blood of patients with chronic ITP patients has high expression,which can be used as one of the important indicators for early determination of the prognosis of patients with ITP.
