Abstract
Objective To investigate the relevance between endometrial polyps and infertility. Methods The clinical data of 120 infertility patients who had laparoscopy and hysteroscopy surgeries in Kaifeng obstetrics and gynecology hospital from June 2011 to May 2012 were analyzed, including age, pregnancy history, laparoscopic pelvic disease, duration of infertility and the incidence of endometdal polyps. The diagnostic consistency of en dometrial polyps by B-ultrasonic or by hysteroscopy was analyzed. Results Patients' age and pelvic inflammatory diseases in different groups had no significant impacts on the incidence of endometrial polyps (P > 0.05).With the elongation of duration of infertility, the incidence of endometrial polyps increased accordingly (P < 0.05).The incidence of polyps in the primary infertility group was higher than that in the secondary infertility group (14.3% vs 6.0%,P < 0.05).Patients with endometriosis had a higher incidence rate of polyps than without endometdosis (19.0% vs 5.1%,P < 0.05).Hysteroscopy had higher positive rate of polyps than B-ultrasound (11.7% vs 6.7%,P < 0.05).Conclusions The incidence of endometrial polyps is correlated with pregnancy history, the duration, and causes of infertility.Hysteroscopy is an effective method to exclude endometrial polyps.
