Abstract

The rheological properties of concentrated solutions and melts of linear polymers in oscillating and steady shear flows and especially the superslow relaxational processes associated with the motions of the macromolecules with a characteristic scale substantially greater than the distance between entanglements have been explored theoretically. It is shown that there is self-consistency of the relaxation times in the region of linear and non-linear visco-elasticity.
