Abstract
The viruses of lumpy skin disease and Kenya sheep and goat pox proved to be identical, by direct and indirect fluorescent antibody and serum neutralisation tests, with sheep pox and goat pox virus strains from the Middle East. All these viruses showed a distant relationship with cow pox virus by the fluorescent antibody methods but not by neutralisation. No serological relationships could be demonstrated with Kenyan camel and horse pox virus strains.
