Abstract

Objective To investigate the genetic polymorphisms of children with Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP) in the T cell receptor constant alpha chain gene (TCRCα)-560 C/T Methods Cases were collected from 36 children with HSP (HSP group) who were admitted to Changsha Central Hospital and the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, the Second Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, from Sep.2010 to Nov.2011, and 60 healthy children as healthy control group were stu-died in this research.T cell receptor constant alpha chain gene (TCRCα)loci -560 C/T was detected with polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism method and agarose gel electrophoresis(AGE). Results There was no significant difference between genotype frequencies of CC, CT and TT in the locus -560 C/T of TCRCα gene in HSP group and healthy control group(χ2=5.39, P>0.05). But there was significant difference between allele frequency of C and T types in HSP group and that in healthy control group (χ2=4.69, P<0.05). Conclusion The polymorphism of -560 C/T of TCRCα might be related with the pathogenesis of HSP. Key words: T cell receptor; Gene polymorphism; Henoch-Schonlein purpura; Child
