Relationship between the alexithymia and self consistency and congruence in female criminals in prison

Abstract

Objective To investigate relationship between the alexithymia and state of self consistency and Congruence in female criminals in prison.Methods 100 criminals from Guangdong female prison and 50 control group from one factory were investigated with Self Consistency and Congruence scale (SCCS),Toronto Alexithymia scale(TAS) and the general data scale.Results The score of TAS-I (3.00±0.69) and score of TAS-4(2.79±0.65) were significantly different from those in controls [(2.21±0.63),(2.09±0.44)] (P ＜0.01).The score of SCCS (95.98±14.04) and score of SCCS-3 (21.28±4.62) were significantly different from those in controls [(91.12±13.11),(1 8.11±5.01)] (P ＜ 0.01).Pearson correlation analysis showed strong and plus correlation between the scores of TAS,TAS-1 ,TAS-2 and the scores of SCCS,SCCS-1 ,SCCS-3(P＜0.01).The plus correlation between the score of TAS-3 and the scores of SCCS-2 (P ＜ 0.05),the negative correlation between the score of TAS-3 and the scores of SCCS (P ＜ 0.05),and the negative correlation between the score of TAS-4 and the score of SCCS-2 (P ＜ 0.01).The plus correlation between the score of TAS-4 and the scores of SCCS-2 (P ＜ 0.01).Conclusion The research analysis show strong character mentality of alexithymia and state of self consistency and congruence in female criminals in prison.
