Abstract

No marked cultivar selection was observed for Rhizobium japonicum strains from different serogroups, whether the inoculum contained two or three strains. Strain 311B formed the greater propertion of serotyped nodules on all the soybean cultivars from multi-strain Inoculants. Nodulation and nitrogen fixation for the Adepta X D 216 and Chippewa X D 216 combinations were superior to other associations. Single-strain inocula were significantly better than doubleor triple strain Inoculants in nodulation, top dry weight, per cent and total nitrogen content of top dry matter.
