Abstract

Abstract Varietal differences in the resistance to bacterial wilt and nutrient uptake of tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) seedlings were examined in pot experiments. Twenty-three tomato cultivars were classified into three groups based on the degree of resistance to the disease. Differences in nutrient uptake among cultivars were observed for all the elements tested, and highly resistant cultivars were characterized by a high calcium uptake.
