Abstract

RECENT reports indicate that factors, such as the level of dietary vitamins, amount and source of protein and amino acid imbalance may affect the concentration of free amino acids in blood plasma of various species. The level of dietary pyridoxine, pantothenic acid, niacin, riboflavin and vitamin B12 appear to affect some of the amino acids in the plasma of chicks (Richardson et al., 1953a) and of rats (Harrill et al., 1962; and Swendseid et al., 1963).Other reports indicate also that the source and amount of protein and addition of amino acids may affect the concentration of free amino acid in plasma of chicks (Richardson et al., 1953b; Gray et al., 1960; Hill et al., 1961; Hill and Olsen, 1963); of rats (Peraino and Harper, 1962; Rogers et al., 1962); of swine (Puchal et al., 1962) and of man (Frame, 1958).During the past few years, studies have been carried…
