Abstract

Niobium oxide is usually used as dopant in functional ceramic material. In this paper, the relationship between the FRL(ferroelectric, rhombohetral, low temperature)-FRH(ferroelectric, rhombohetral, high temperature) phase transitional behavior and the content of Nb2O5 in Pb(Zr0.97Ti0.03)O3 ceramics was discussed. The temperature of the FRL-FRH phase transition increased from 30°C to 69°C when the content of Nb2O5 increased from 0.8 wt% to 2.0 wt%. The interesting phenomenon was that the temperature region of the FRL-FRH phase transition expanded in the PZT 97/3 sample with a high content of Nb2O5. It reveals that the spontaneous polarization changes gradually with temperature in the material.
