Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the social relations of futsal coaches and athletes at theBorneo Inspire Soccer Academy in Pontianak City. The sub-problem in this research ishow is the form of power relations and the concept of discourse in training between futsalcoaches and athletes at the Borneo Inspire Soccer Academy in Pontianak City?. Theresearch method used is qualitative research. Data collection techniques used areobservation, interviews and documentation. The data collection tools used wereobservation guides, interview guides and documentation. The analysis in the study waspresented qualitatively using 6 informants consisting of coaches, assistant coaches,female futsal athletes and male futsal athletes. The results showed that the relationshipbetween coaches and athletes is often held relationships with each other which is doneverbally or sign. The power relations that occur in coach training have a social identitythat acts as a guide, supervisor and controller of the training program that has a biginfluence on athletes. The concept of discourse in training is a social practice carried outby coaches through ideas and concepts that influence the way athletes think and act intraining.Keywords: Social Relations, Power Relations, Futsal Coaches and Athletes
