Abstract
The Einstein equations for the exterior fields of stationarily rotating axisymmetric sources are solved by the inverse (scattering) method, i.e. the metric can be calculated from the “scattering” coefficients via a Zakharov-Shabat equation or a Gelfand-Levitan-Marchenko equation.
