Abstract
Abstract This chapter discusses the importance of Indigenous elders to Indigenous organizations and the role and responsibilities they have within these organizations. It discusses the differences between a mainstream organization and an Indigenous organization and ways in which to make an Indigenous organization reflective of the Indigenous culture and practice. Indigenous elders are the hub of Indigenous society and should be reflected as such, but there may be issues due to the historical nature of Indigenous people, and these could present some concerns within Indigenous organizations. A proposal of eight workshops, divided into two separate groups consisting of four workshops each, which are elder led, addresses the different parameters, concerns, and issues that exist and provides a solution to working within and having a healthy Indigenous organization.
