Abstract

The aim of this paper is to understand the rehabilitative process after the flood disaster in Kerala. Rehabilitation is an investment, with cost benefits for both the individuals and society. Rehabilitation also enables individuals to participate in education and gainful employment, remain independent at home, and minimize the need for financial or caregiver support. A thorough literature search from the databases were searched between 2006 and 2020 including MEDLINE, PsycINFO, PubMed, EMBASE, CINAHL, The British Nursing Index, and the Cochrane Central Register from the time period 2000– 2015. Kerala model found to be effective in rehabilitating the flood victims as per the need.
