Abstract
The Office of Research and Development (ORD) at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has prepared a plan for a comprehensive and broad research program to improve health risk assessments. ORD presented its plan to the executive committee of EPA's Science Advisory Board in April. This plan was developed in response to congressional direction to begin such an integrated and systematic program in 1988. The proposed budget is $3 million in fiscal year 1988 and $7 million in fiscal year 1989, and EPA plans to spend $7 million a year for at least five years.
