Abstract
Drinking water quality versus quantity The transition from the twentieth to the twenty-first century will bring a high level of activity in terms of the quantity and quality of drinking water. With the continuous and rapid increase in population, changes in global weather patterns, and dynamically growing industries, the corresponding increases in water demand are difficult to satisfy. In the twenty-first century, we must solve the problem of differentiation between municipal water supplied for public consumption and water supplied for all other domestic purposes. An almost unavoidable decision to build separate distribution systems, providing potable water in one network and lesser-quality water in the other, is approaching.
