Abstract
This thesis investigates the regulation of the defence compound dhurrin in the cereal crop sorghum, from the molecular to physiological level. The results of this thesis suggest a role for cytosine methylation in dhurrin regulation and identify the first candidate regulators of the key dhurrin biosynthetic gene, CYP79A1.
