Abstract

Regular self-pulsating of the output intensity from a BaTiO 3 self-pumped phase conjugate mirror has been observed. The pulsation period is seen to vary with both the incident laser intensity and the specific orientation of the crystal with respect to the input beam. The end of each pulsation is signalled by a frequency shift (±few Hz) of the phase conjugate output beam.
