Abstract
This study presents the first occurrence of Dicliptera ciliaris Juss. (Acanthaceae) in Maranhao state, Brazil, from a floristic survey in Restinga of the Itatinga beach, municipality of Alcântara. This record underscores the importance of developing studies to the knowledge of the local flora and the Brazilian plant biodiversity, especially of this species.
