Abstract

6-(Trifluoromethyl)comanic acid reacts regioselectively with phenylhydrazine in water to give 5-[3,3,3-trifluoro-2-(phenylhydrazono)propyl]-1-phenyl-1 H-pyrazole-3-carboxylic acid. Similar reaction in dioxane leads to 3-[3,3,3-trifluoro-2-(phenylhydrazono)propyl]-1-phenyl-1 H-pyrazole-5-carboxylic acid. A strong solvent influence on the reaction route was also found for 6-(trifluoromethyl)comanic acid derivatives.
