Abstract

Chinese regional studies is an interdisciplinary science that studies the geographical location of foreign countries and regions. Chinese regional studies dates back to the founding of the People’s Republic of China; over several years of its development, it emerged as an independent and structured discipline. Due to the international situation, as well as the problems of foreign language majors themselves and the influence of artificial intelligence, foreign language specialists are facing unprecedented challenges. At the same time, increasing the level of regional studies opens up great opportunities for improving the work of universities specialising in teaching foreign languages. Promoting the integration of foreign language specialties and regional studies is an effective means of transforming foreign language universities.
