Abstract

Developments within and between the British regional library systems in the year April 1974 — March 1975 are reviewed. Through the National Committee on Regional Library Co‐operation, regions considered alternative forms of union catalogues, and produced a revised Directory of Allocations under the Provincial Joint Fiction Reserve. Progress on a regional transport system and the total adoption of ISBN listing are reported. Other topics discussed are regional subject specialisation schemes, automation, and local co‐operation. The statistical table indicates that loans within regions have dropped by 15% when compared with the previous year.
