Abstract
The journal of priest Piotr Świtkowski played an important role in shaping the political awareness of Poles in the years 1782–1792. A particular merit of this journal was providing extensive knowledge about the political, economic and social situation, and mainly about the Enlightenment reforms in Europe. Spain was also among the countries discussed by Father Świtkowski. He treated it as a country at a similar level of development to Poland. This was to inspire Poland to undertake reforms similar to those implemented in Spain.
