Abstract

The Keck Visiting Professorship, sponsored by the W.M. Keck Foundation, was inaugurated in the fall of 1993 and normally rotates every year. The expectations are listed in an advertisement in TLE, (January 1993, p. 71). The position is attached to the Institute for Resource and Environmental Geosciences (IREG). Its mission is defined as stimulating interdisciplinary dialog between geoscientists and engineers engaged in resource exploration and production as well as in minimizing the associated environmental consequences of these activities and those resulting from the consumption of such resources.
