Abstract

Machine translation has gone through decades of tortuous development and made tremendous progress. In the age of artificial intelligence, machine translation has a rapid development. Whereas, the bottlenecks that plague the quality of machine translation still exist. This paper analyzes the problems of machine translation in terms of language and culture. What's more, the difficulty, complexity and chronicity of improving the quality of machine translation are also discussed. In addition, further research and development ideas are explored. Due to the problems of machine translation in the age of the artificial intelligence, a conclusion is drawn that machine translation and human translation should be complementary to each other and coexist together.
