Abstract
This is an introductory essay to the special issue of “Peace Review” on the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the Russo-Ukrainian war. When we put out the call for submissions for this issue, we hoped that we would be completing the finishing touches in the final days of the war. Instead, as we read and reread the articles, we were painfully aware of the fact that the war continued and more conflict had broken out across our globe. In this essay, we reflect on the current war and introduce the articles that we chose for the issue. We are happy that the articles come from many different places, topically and geographically, cover a variety of perspectives and often, focus on topics that are not covered in mainstream media.
