Abstract

Language is a means of communication and interaction for living things. Every language has certain rules and rules. Grammar structure in Turkish has its own peculiarities. Sentence elements, which have an important place in the construction of a sentence, are one of the main issues in the language. Because sentence elements allow a text to be understood better. In this study, Refik Halit Karay's work called Peach Gardens was discussed and sentence elements were analyzed in order to better understand the text. The story was evaluated according to Muharrem Ergin's classification of sentence elements, and the document analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the study. The main and auxiliary elements in the sentence were examined through eight elements: subject, predicate, hidden subject, adverb, place complement, definite object, indefinite object and extra-sentence element. The results obtained in the study were given in the form of tables and necessary interpretations were made.
