Abstract
This paper reports on the reduction of pressure loss in the suction flow passage of oil flooded screw compressors. There are two factors that cause suction pressure loss. One is viscous friction of the suction air and the other is interference from the lubricant oil. The former was analyzed using a simulation model based on the Voxel method, and the latter was analyzed using the VOF method. As a result, it is clarified that optimizing the cross section area of the suction flow passage and adding an oil-draining structure can decrease suction pressure loss.
