Abstract
In this paper, a periodic dithering technique for electromagnetic interference (EMI) reduction in interleaved DC-DC converters is proposed. The frequency range of the pulse-width modulated (PWM) signal, along with the periodic time and phase of the dithering signal are the parameters involved in the dithering process. The effects of these parameters in reducing EMI are studied. Analytical expressions of dithered PWM signals for interleaved DC-DC converters are derived. The proposed technique is validated through simulation and experiments. The effectiveness of the proposed dithering technique is evaluated by showing the attenuation of the common mode current spectrum.
