Abstract
El presente estudio tuvo por objetivo cuantificar la reducción del tiempo en el diagnóstico microbiológico rutinario de hemocultivos positivos, utilizando para ello 240 muestras provenientes de pacientes que se encontraban en los diferentes servicios del Hospital General San Juan de Dios (HGSJDD), dichas muestras fueron identificadas utilizando tanto el método Vitek como el método Maldi-tof, obteniéndose resultados favorables en cuanto a la reducción de respuesta diagnostica a favor de la tecnología Maldi-tof.
