Abstract

Microporellus iguazuensis is redescribed from the southern Atlantic rainforest of Brazil 23 years after its original description. The species is characterized by stipitate basidiomata, smooth ellipsoid basidiospores, simple-septate generative hyphae, dextrinoid skeletal hyphae, and a root-parasite habit. In the present work this noteworthy polypore is described, illustrated and its taxonomy discussed.
