Abstract

Due to the increased importance of IoT in the healthcare industry, there is a need to identify its seeming benefits while reviewing its frameworks. Multiple researchers have identified IoT as a system of wireless, interrelated and connected digital devices that are useful for collecting, sending, and storing large amounts of data over a network, usually without the need for physical interaction between humans. Understanding the peculiarity of the healthcare industry and the need for physical consultations, it has been discovered that consultations and appointments can now be virtual due to the digitization of healthcare practices. The benefits of IoT and digitization in this ever-evolving sector cannot be overemphasized; therefore, there will be a need to improve the efficiency of the health system and improve population health.
