Abstract
Recycled chloride-attacked aggregate concrete (RCAAC) requires special treatment to reduce the corrosion risk of the steel bars embedded in it. This paper proposes bidirectional electromigration (BIEM) rehabilitation as a recommended step to construct concrete components from RCAAC. The electrochemical parameters were investigated to obtain the highest chloride ion removal efficiency (CRE). An assembled laminated slab was then prepared as a case study of the possible application of the RCAAC. Results proved that the durability of assembled laminated slab was improved, the flexural capacity remained in an ideal state and the crack distribution characteristics did not change. This paper can provide a feasible method to solve the issue of concrete waste pollution during urbanization construction for islands or coastal cities.
