Abstract

Environmental awareness leads us to the development of environmentally friendly materials, including natural fiber-filled thermoplastic composites. To make it more eco- friendly, we need to apply a waste management strategy to treat the composite at the end of its life. Meanwhile, researchers and engineers have been developing various techniques to recycle polymer composite materials. In this chapter, various recycling processes for composites are discussed together with a review on some research related to the recyclability of natural fiber-filled thermoplastic composites. There are a limited number of researches on the recyclability and recycle process of natural fiber composites. On the other hand, there are so many factors related to the recyclability of the composites that have not been studied. This review shows that there are further research opportunities on recyclability of the composites.
