Abstract

Recreation and leisure have become important issues in the small but rich desert country. Natives slowly start to take part in activities other than their customary “diwaniyah” sessions and desert outings. New types of facilities are made available for them in the metropolitan area while a large part of the coast has been occupied by private bungalows. Despite excellent facilities for recreation the people have still to be convinced of the quality of services offered in their own country.
