Abstract
In Supreme Dream a character named Rhonda Trodd, a white woman from Calgary, in a karaoke bar recounts her infatuation and eventual career with a black female Motown group, The Supremes. She begins with her first six-year-old infatuation with the group, lip-synching to their songs with a couple of friends on their parents’ lawns. She follows her education and training in music and theatre to her big break, when she actually gets to tour hotels and cruise ships as a Supreme, and experiences both the glamorous and not-so-glamorous sides of the somewhat bigger time of the entertainment industry.
