Abstract
Abstract This study is related to the selective catalytic oxidation of H 2 S in the presence of excess water and ammonia using V 2 O 5 /SiO 2 catalyst. Hydrogen sulfide was successfully converted to the mixture of elemental sulfur and ammonium thiosulfate without considerable sulfur dioxide emission. Plausible reaction steps are proposed to describe the kinetic experimental results.
