Abstract

The method of spinning sideband calculation by Lippmaa et al. and Herzfeld and Berger has been extended in order to calculate intensities in magic-angle sample spinning NMR experiments where the spinning sidebands are totally suppressed (TOSS) by means of the four-pulse sequence reported by Dixon. In order to simplify the calculation, an approximation is also applied where those terms in the Hamiltonian containing the double spinning frequency are neglected. It is shown that the exact and the approximative treatment are suitable either to compute the true intensity distribution from the experimental one if the tensor parameters are known or to estimate tensor parameters from a series of experimental spectra.
