Abstract

Abstract We have received a copy of the ‘Records of the Survey of India’ for the year 1911–12 , prepared under the direction of the Surveyor General of India, Colonel S. G. Burrard, C.S.I., R.E., F.R.S. This is the third volume of the Records issued in the present form; it comprises nearly 200 pages, together with maps, diagrams and illustrations, and gives much information which is interesting, not with standing its rather belated publication. It contains a full account of the work of the Department during the year under the headings: (1) Topographical Survey, (2) Geodetic Survey, (3) Triangulation, (4) Tidal Operations, (5) Levelling, (6) Magnetic Survey, and (7) Reproducing offices.
