Abstract

Objective: Prevention of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leakage after removal of skull base tumors is very important to avoid postoperative complications. However, dural repair by suturing with conventional needles and stitches is sometimes difficult and time consuming in deep and/or narrow surgical fields. The authors report a reconstruction technique of the skull base dura with nonpenetrating titanium clips in combination with autologous fascia.
