Abstract

An attempt to reconstruct the Lazaret cave's palaoenvironment (Upper Middle Pleistocene) is based on a study of the large Mammals and Rodents. The originality of this work lies in the application of several methods (multivariate analysis, cenograms, climatic curves etc.). The coherent results obtained show the existence of a mosaic environment in a cold and humid continental climate. The environment obtained from the Large Mammals also shows evidence of the human influence on the hunted fauna.
