Abstract
Abstract This article traces the bond between Ricketts and Steinbeck and announces the restoration of the Western Flyer, the seventy-two-foot purse seiner on which they embarked for their Gulf of California trip of March–April 1940. Western Flyer is scheduled to sail again in 2021.
