Abstract

When it comes to Title IX and the Violence Against Women Act amendments to the Clery Act, technology has made compliance more complicated, but certain technological tools can make compliance a bit easier. That's according to Joseph C. Storch, J.D., Associate Counsel in the Office of General Counsel at The State University of New York; Gemma Rinefierd, Ed.D., Director of the Student Conduct Institute, also at SUNY; and Taylor Sinclair, J.D., System Director for Title IX at the Nebraska State College System. They spoke at Stetson University's Annual National Conference on Law and Higher Education about how to use technology to better meet compliance requirements. They also provided insight about how technology can make the proper response to violence more complicated for higher ed officials, yet easier for students to commit certain violations, and how you can mitigate that.
