Abstract

Despite numerous efforts to control floods and significant investment in this respect, India continues to suffer death tolls and socio-economic damage each year. In India, the flood management system is complex because of many socio-climate factors, including sea-level rise, monsoon, global warming, and socio-dynamics. These factors impact regular flooding and are exponentially distributed in the severity of floods. In this paper, we explained in depth the flood-prone regions in India and the methods for flood management in India. We propose the Recommendation Based Rescue Operation (RBRO) model that addresses the limitations that have been explained by the smart IoT devices with the recommendation framework to enhance effective and efficient flood management. In this study, we found that the rescue of flood victims is effective and efficient since the process we followed is step by step based on the verification and validation so it is more effective.
