Abstract

This study was performed to investigate the recognition of medical students on the methods of education in clinical clerkship.Throughout the clinical clerkship of emergency medicine for 4th grade medical school, various methods of education such asclinical lecture, problem based learning, standardized patients practice, discussion on the patient-doctor-society relationship,bedside skill, and case presentation were applied for 2 weeks. The satisfaction on curriculum and recognition on the methodsof education were surveyed with questionnaire by Likert 5 step scales after clinical clerkship. Students responded positively andhad been motivated to bedside skill and standardized patients practice especially. They also evaluated that problem basedlearning and discussion on the patient-doctor-society relationship were helpful. To improve the abilities of medical students inclinical reasoning, self-directed learning, professionalism, problem solving and clinical skills, various methods of education thatmake students be interested, active, and satisfied should be considered based on the response of students.
