Recent trends in surface treatment using ion beam processes

Abstract

Modern ion beam induced surface modification techniques are reviewed including ion plating, ionized cluster beam deposition, ion beam mixing, dynamic recoil mixing, ion assisted deposition and ion implantation. Applications of these techniques to the production of novel surfaces and the important parameters which produce these special coatings are discussed.
