Recent Trends in Holocaust Historiography

Abstract

This article aims to provide a synthesis of some of the most important works on the timing for the ‘final solution’ that have appeared in the last few years. By going on to discuss the work of several important theorists, it also suggests that this mainstream historical research needs to be supplemented by a more theoretical approach to the nature of the murder process if the horror of the Holocaust is to receive a more rounded explanation.
